The Los Angeles Dodgers snapped a three-game losing streak Wednesday night with a 4-1 win over the Chicago White Sox. It marked the second time in the past week that Tony Gonsolin successfully served as a stopper.

Gonsolin held the White Sox to just one run and three hits over six innings. The lone run Gonsolin allowed came on a Jake Burger homer, and his career-best streak of consecutive starts with at least six innings pitched was extended to five.

The White Sox threatened to cut into their deficit after Burger’s leadoff home run in the fifth inning as it was followed by a Gavin Sheets double and AJ Pollock walk. Gonsolin settled back in to retire the next three batters faced.

The right-hander lowered his National League-leading ERA to 1.58 with the quality start. Gonsolin was backed by two early home runs, and the Dodgers added another in then inth.

Will Smith opened the scoring with a two-run home run in the first inning and Cody Bellinger led off the second with a solo shot. Johnny Cueto and the White Sox bullpen then kept the Dodgers at bay until Trea Turner provided some insurance with a solo homer in the ninth.

All three players now have seven home runs on the season, and for Turner it gave him two in the past three games.
