Andrew Heaney struggled and the Los Angeles Dodgers bullpen didn’t fair much better in a 9-0 loss to the Chicago White Sox. The Dodgers fell to 2-4-4 in Cactus League play and dropped both games against their Camelback Ranch co-tenant, but Sunday represented their first shut out loss.

The White Sox opened the game with a double from Tim Anderson and Luis Robert’s two-run home run before Heaney could record an out. Anderson connected for a two-run double in the second inning, which extended the White Sox’s lead to 4-0.

Anderson added to his big day with an RBI base hit in the fourth, which was followed by Robert hitting his second home run of the game.

Garrett Cleavinger allowed the hits to Anderson and Robert, but one of the runs was charged went to Heaney. He was charged with five runs on seven hits over three-plus innings. One positive for the southpaw were his four strikeouts.

The White Sox found more success against Caleb Ferguson in the fifth inning, with Micker Aldofo hitting an RBI single and Danny Mendick driving in another run with a sacrifice fly.

Dallas Keuchel successfully continued his preparation for the regular season by scattering three hits over 4.1 scoreless innings.

Dodgers Spring Training roster cuts

While their game with the White Sox was being played, the Dodgers optioned Darien Núñez and re-assigned Beau Burrows to Minor League camp.

The Dodgers’ roster is now at 45 active players in big league camp, which includes 11 non-roster invitees. The total breakdown is 23 pitchers (three non-roster), four catchers (two), 10 infielders (three), five outfielders (three), and three outfielder/infielders.
