Fresh off a three-game sweep of the Washington Nationals, the Los Angeles Dodgers (8-2) will host the Colorado Rockies (3-7) as large betting favorites at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com starting on Tuesday at Chavez Ravine. The Dodgers took three of four from the Rockies at Coors Field to begin the season, winning the last three after losing the opener.

Los Angeles opened as a -335 favorite for the first game Tuesday at online betting sites, with reigning National League Cy Young Award winner Trevor Bauer (1-0, 4.15 ERA) on the mound, and his first start of the year came at Colorado on April 2. Bauer pitched six hitless innings before getting into trouble, and he wound up surrendering four runs and three hits in 6.1 innings with two walks and 10 strikeouts en route to an 11-6 victory.

Bauer struck out 10 again in his next start but did not get a win, giving up two runs and three hits in 6.2 innings of a 4-3 loss to the Oakland Athletics.

Opposing Bauer the first time around for the Rockies was Antonio Senzatela (1-1, 5.56 ERA), and he was rocked for seven runs and nine hits in just 3.1 innings. Senzatela rebounded nicely though in his second outing, pitching eight scoreless innings in an 8-0 victory against the Arizona Diamondbacks on April 7. He will take the hill opposite Bauer again in the opener here.

In the second game on Wednesday, Dustin May (1-0, 0.00 ERA) is expected to toe the rubber for Los Angeles versus Jon Gray (1-0, 1.54 ERA) and Colorado. May has made only one start so far in 2021, tossing six scoreless innings in a 10-3 rout of the Oakland Athletics on April 5 with two walks and eight strikeouts. Meanwhile, Gray has been the best pitcher for the Rockies this year, with each of his first two opponents managing to get only one run against him, including the Dodgers.

Then in Thursday’s finale, Julio Urias (2-0, 2.84 ERA) will go for Los Angeles against Colorado’s Austin Gomber (0-2, 2.89 ERA). Urias was strong in his first start of the season at Coors, allowing one run and three hits in seven innings of a 4-2 victory with one walk and six strikeouts. Gomber experienced some control issues in his first outing versus Urias and the Dodgers, giving up three runs and one hit in three innings with seven walks and two strikeouts to take the loss.
