Coming off their first World Series championship since 1988, the Los Angeles Dodgers were prominently featured among Major League Baseball’s most popular player jerseys entering the 2021 season, led by Mookie Betts at No. 1.
Betts finished the 2020 season with the league’s top selling jersey as well. He exceeded lofty expectations in his first season with the Dodgers, hitting a stellar .292/.366/.562 across 55 games on top of providing elite defense.
In addition to his MVP-caliber season on the field, Betts established a strong presence in the clubhouse and lent advice to many of his teammates.
Right behind Betts on the list of most popular player jerseys is Cody Bellinger. Other Dodgers to crack the top 20 include Clayton Kershaw (No. 5) and Corey Seager (No. 13).
The list is based on Nike jersey sales from MLBShop.com since the conclusion of the 2020 postseason.
Former Dodgers utility man and current Boston Red Sox second baseman Kiké Hernandez placed No. 9 on the list. His sales were combined from his former and current team.
Bellinger and Kershaw have both placed among the most popular jerseys since the 2017 season. Bellinger finished sixth at the end of the 2020 season and previously placed 16th (2017), 15th (2018) and No. 3 (2019).
As for Kershaw, he ranked No. 12 in 2019, which marked the first time in several seasons he fell out of the top 10. He previously placed No. 4 in both 2017 and 2018.
