The Los Angeles Dodgers today announced the signing of new Minor League affiliation agreements with Triple-A Oklahoma City, Double-A Tulsa, High-A Rancho Cucamonga and Low-A Great Lakes that extend through the 2020 season.
The affiliation with Oklahoma City began in September 2014 when the franchise was sold to Mandalay Baseball, LLC, which is a partnership that includes ownership from the Dodgers organization.
“Oklahoma City has been a great home to our players and we’re excited to extend our partnership with Mandalay Baseball and the OKC Dodgers’ organization,” Dodgers president and CEO Stan Kasten said.
“It’s been a fantastic partnership, and we’re grateful for the community support we’ve received in our four seasons in Oklahoma City.”
After breaking from Double-A Chattanooga, the franchise began their affiliation with the Drillers in September 2014. That was after Tulsa spent 12 years as an affiliate to the Colorado Rockies organization.
“We are pleased to announce our continued partnership with our full season affiliates,” Dodgers director of player development Brandon Gomes said.
“We not only value our strong relationships and the first class facilities provided, but the opportunity our men have to develop on the field while positively impacting the community around them.”
The partnership with the Quakes began in 2011. Rancho Cucamonga reached the California League Playoffs this season a fourth straight year and for the sixth time in eight seasons they’ve been an affiliate.
“We’re very proud to continue our relationship with the Dodgers,” said Quakes vice president and general manager Grant Riddle.
“This has been a win-win for our fans, what with all the former Quakes that have made their way to Dodger Stadium and the countless rehabbers that have come to LoanMart Field while trying to work their way back to Los Angeles. It’s a great partnership and we’re excited to watch former Quakes help the Dodgers get back to the World Series again this year!”
Meanwhile, the Loons will remain the Low-A affiliate since the team’s inception in 2007. “We have had a great relationship with the Dodgers over the last 12 years and we’re looking forward to working hand-in-hand with them for another two seasons,” Loons senior vice president & general manager Scott Litle said.
“The Dodgers have played a key role in the success our franchise has enjoyed, and we are excited to announce the Dodgers will be a part of Loons baseball moving forward.”
