After being swept at home by the St. Louis Cardinals, the Los Angeles Dodgers bounced back in a big way Friday night, tallying 13 hits in an 11-1 rout of the San Diego Padres.

The scoring got started early and often for Los Angeles as they scored in each of the first five innings. Matt Kemp drove in the first run of the night on a single to right field in the top of the first.

He was not credited with an RBI though because Padres right fielder Franmil Reyes made an error on the play, allowing Manny Machado to score all the way from first base.

The second inning was the biggest of the night for the Dodgers. They scored three runs on RBI singles by Cody Bellinger and Justin Turner, and an RBI double off the bat of Brian Dozier.

Los Angeles added another run in the third inning, this time on their first homer of the night, a solo shot off the bat of Chris Taylor to give him 14 for the season. Taylor had a solid night at the plate, going 2-for-4 with a walk.

Turner then hit his 10th home run of the year in the fourth. His was a two-run homer that extended the Dodgers’ lead to 7-0.

Bellinger completed his three-RBI night when he drove in two with a double in the fifth. And then for good measure, Max Muncy slugged a two-run pinch-hit home run in the seventh to give the Dodgers 11 runs.

That was all in support of Rich Hill, who turned in another solid outing on the mound. Hill carried a perfect game into the fifth inning and wound up completing six shutout innings, allowing just two hits and a walk while striking out eight.
