Coming off a win in the finale of a three-game series with the San Francisco Giants, the Los Angeles Dodgers hit the road for the start of a three-game Interleague series with the Seattle Mariners at Safeco Field.
Making his first career start in an American League ballpark is Walker Buehler, who looks to build off a superb outing against the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field. He tossed seven shutout innings, allowing only four hits in what ultimately amounted to a tough luck no-decision.
Buehler is in the midst of one of his most dominant stretches all season long, having compiled a 1.40 ERA and 0.93 WHIP over his last three starts dating back to the end of July.
All-in-all, he enters with a 6-4 record, 3.77 ERA, 3.36 FIP and 1.06 WHIP across 81.1 innings pitched (15 games).
The Mariners counter with Wade LeBlanc, who enjoyed success against the Houston Astros in his most recent start on Aug. 11. In five innings of work, he yielded three hits and two runs with five strikeouts.
The left-hander enters with a 7-2 record, 3.80 ERA, 4.12 FIP and 1.14 WHIP in 118.1 innings pitched this season (24 appearances, 19 starts).
He signed with Seattle at the conclusion of Spring Training and has been a worthwhile investment, accumulating 1.9 WAR (Baseball-Reference) thus far.
A 10-year veteran, LeBlanc is 1-7 with a 4.18 ERA and 1.23 WHIP in 56 career frames against the Dodgers, totaling 37 strikeouts to 18 walks.
Justin Turner enters play with a 10-game hitting streak, producing six multi-hit efforts and batting .436/.488/.718 with six doubles, one triple, one home run and two RBI during that span.
