Dodgers Highlights: Matt Kemp Homers Twice Leading To Blowout Victory Over Brewers

The Los Angeles Dodgers offense exploded for 15 hits on Sunday afternoon, leading to an 11-2 victory to earn a series win over the Milwaukee Brewers.

There were contributions across the board, as every single Dodgers position who logged an at-bat recorded at least one hit. Perhaps no one contributed more than Matt Kemp, who went 3-for-5 with two home runs to give him 17 on the season.

Kemp’s first home run was a solo shot in the second inning off of Brewers starter Brent Suter that was launched to deep left-center field. Kemp then went the other way to right-center in the third inning for his second long ball off Suter.

The second inning was a big one for Los Angeles, as they scored five runs overall. Chris Taylor drove in two with a single, and then Manny Machado and Justin Turner hit back-to-back doubles to account for two more runs.

Logan Forsythe, who has been struggling with the bat in recent weeks, had a big day at the plate by going 3-for-4 with a walk. He scored two runs and collected an RBI in the rubber match.

Perhaps the most ironic aspect of the victory is that when they were facing Brewers pitchers, they scored 11 runs in the first six innings. Brewers manager Craig Counsell then opted to use position players as pitchers for the final three innings, and they proceeded to not allow a single run for the rest of the game.

Alex Wood turned in another strong start as he settled in after giving up two runs in the first inning and was able to get through six innings to improve to 6-5 on the season. Wood was aided by a few highlight-reel plays from Machado at shortstop.
