Dodgers News: Max Muncy Named Final Vote Candidate For All-Star Game

Los Angeles Dodgers infielder Max Muncy has been named a candidate for the Final Vote to represent the National League in this year’s Major League Baseball All-Star Game.

Muncy has been one of the better stories in baseball this year as after being released by the Oakland Athletics in 2016, spending all of 2017 in the Dodgers Minor League system and beginning the 2018 season with Triple-A Oklahoma City, he has developed into one of the best hitters in all of baseball.

In 66 games for the Dodgers this season, Muncy is slashing .270/.410/.617 with 20 home runs, 38 RBI and 39 runs scored. He is among the league leaders in almost every offensive category, including leading the NL with a 1.027 on-base plus slugging percentage among all players with at least 240 plate appearances.

The other candidates on the Final Vote in the NL are Milwaukee Brewers first baseman Jesus Aguillar, San Francisco Giants first baseman Brandon Belt, St. Louis Cardinals infielder Matt Carpenter and Washington Nationals shortstop Trea Turner.

Dodger fans have proven that they can vote their players in on the Final Vote as Justin Turner broke the record last year en route to his first career All-Star appearances.

They will need to do that again in 2018 for Muncy, who certainly deserves to be in Washington D.C. along with Matt Kemp and Kenley Jansen for the Midsummer Classic.
