Ross Stripling Turns In Another Strong Performance For Dodgers To Earn Series Victory Over Braves

The Los Angeles Dodgers sent their best pitcher Ross Stripling to the mound on Sunday afternoon looking to earn a series victory over the Atlanta Braves.

Stripling turned in another strong performance, and the Dodgers came away with a 7-2 victory to move to 33-32 on the season.

Both Stripling and Braves starter Sean Newcomb faced the minimum through the first two innings of the game. The Dodgers offense finally got to Newcomb in the third though, scoring three runs on five hits.

Logan Forsythe got the party started by driving the first pitch of the inning into the seats in left for his second home run of the season. Austin Barnes, Chris Taylor, Matt Kemp and Kiké Hernandez then all singled to account for the other two runs.

The Braves responded with two runs of their own in the fourth inning though on solo home runs by Ozzie Albies and Freddie Freeman to cut the deficit to 3-2.

Max Muncy continued his hot streak in the fifth inning by taking Newcomb deep for his 12th home run of the season.

The Dodgers then added two more runs in the sixth on back-to-back doubles by Cody Bellinger and Forsythe and then a bases-loaded walk by Muncy and the Dodgers lead ballooned to 6-2.

Stripling settled in nicely after the rough fourth inning and got through 6.2 innings allowing just the two runs on four hits while striking out six.

Hernandez added some insurance in the bottom of the seventh on a home run to dead center, which accounted for the Dodgers seventh run of the game.

Erik Goeddel followed Stripling out of the bullpen and tossed 1.1 scoreless innings of relief. He has still yet to give up a run as a Dodger. Adam Liberatore then tossed the ninth to complete the victory.
