Dodgers Video: Cody Bellinger Talks Combined No-Hitter During First Appearance On Jimmy Kimmel Live

The Los Angeles Dodgers had a much-needed day off on Monday after going 4-7 on their longest road trip of the season, and star first baseman Cody Bellinger used that to make his first appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live.”

Bellinger was hilarious in his segment, discussing a variety of topics such as what he eats for breakfast, his relationship with Yasiel Puig and the hazing that he was forced to go through last season when he was a rookie.

One story that Bellinger told that was particularly funny was about the team’s combined no-hitter this past Friday night against the San Diego Padres in Mexico.

Bellinger said players in the dugout did not discuss the no-hitter in the dugout while it was going on, which is not a surprise as that is Baseball 101.

But because no one discussed it, Bellinger revealed that after the game some of his teammates did not realize that they even threw a no-hitter until they were told. Unfortunately, Bellinger would not reveal who those players were.

Bellinger is the reigning unanimous National League Rookie of the Year, and his rise to stardom was a quick one as he impressed fans with the long ball, slugging an NL-record 39 home runs in his rookie season.

He hasn’t quite been able to replicate that success so far this season, as Bellinger only has four home runs so far, but he is still having a solid season, batting .283/.340/.465 in 34 games.
