As passionate as Trevor Bauer is to succeed and be dominant on the mound, he’s equally interested in growing the overall game along with his media and other brands. Of course, Bauer’s curiosity landed him in hot water when working on a drone during the 2016 postseason.

Now several years removed from that incident, Bauer’s focus with the Los Angeles Dodgers is on pitching and providing fans with an inside look at Spring Training. Whether going to participate in workouts or speak with media after a start, Bauer regularly has a camera in tow.

He recently compiled footage from Spring Training thus far to give fans a behind-the-scenes look at life in camp. Much of that is predicated on changes brought about the MLB’s health and safety protocols, such as players no longer being permitted to gather and dine in the meal room.

The 30-year-old also detailed his morning commute, which starts earlier than others due to living more than a half hour from Camelback Ranch.

Bauer tests ability

Aside from putting together a vlog, Bauer’s personality was on full display during his start against the San Diego Padres. He began the day by voicing disappointment on social media due to Manny Machado not being in the lineup, and that continued during the outing.

Bauer chose to pitch his right eye closed as a means of testing his ability and learning to succeed in an unusual setting. “I like making myself uncomfortable and throwing different stuff my way and trying to find a solution for it,” Bauer said.

“I think that’s how you improve. You find a way to make yourself uncomfortable, get comfortable with it and do it again.”

Bauer allowed two hits and collected three strikeouts over three scoreless innings.
