The 2017 season was a memorable one for the Los Angeles Dodgers, as they broke records and achieved goals that the franchise hadn’t seen in decades.

For their achievements, they were recently recognized by Baseball America as the 2017 MLB Organization of the Year.

The Dodgers won 104 games in 2017, which is the most for the franchise since they came to Los Angeles in 1958. Additionally, they won the National League West division for the fifth straight season for not only the first time in franchise history, but the first time in the history of the division.

The regular season saw a historic stretch in which the Dodgers went 43-7, which hadn’t been done in baseball in over 100 years.

Due to their recent failures in the postseason, the Dodgers faced a lot of pressure going into October. They breezed through the NL though, sweeping the Arizona Diamondbacks in the Division Series and defeating the Chicago Cubs in five games in the Championship Series to avenge their loss to them in 2016 and advance to their first World Series since 1988.

Once they reached the World Series, the only team standing in their way of a championship was the Houston Astros. The two teams went on to play one of the most memorable Fall Classic’s in recent memory, although it was ultimately the Astros that prevailed in seven games to win their first-ever World Series.

Even though they didn’t reach their final goal, the Dodgers still have a lot to be proud about in regards to their 2017 season which included 10 walk-off wins and the emergence of unexpected heroes like unanimous NL Rookie of the Year Cody Bellinger, Chris Taylor, Austin Barnes, Alex Wood, Brandon Morrow and so many others.

The Dodgers return a lot of those key players in 2018 so they will continue to work towards their ultimate goal and are in a good position to return to the World Series a year from now.
