Fresh off a weeklong vacation Los Angeles Dodgers third baseman Justin Turner loaded a van and donned a Santa hat to distribute gifts at Mattel Children’s Hospital on the UCLA campus. He has regularly provided for those in need, particularly during the holidays.
To continue with his generosity, Turner distributed 2,000 bikes and thousands of toys to children in the Los Angeles area on Saturday, through the Justin Turner Foundation and in partnership with The Los Angeles Dream Center.
Turner and The Dream Center have partnered to give back to the community on several occasions during recent years. The Southern California native was on hand and an active participant at Clayton Kershaw’s Back to School Bash in July.
In January, Turner and The Dream Center are collaborating for the second annual Justin Turner Golf Classic. Proceeds from the event will support children and families that have been affected by cancer or blood disorders, and the L.A. Dream Center and their Veterans program.
Turner’s community initiatives figure to remain in staple in the Los Angeles for the foreseeable future as he reportedly agreed to a four-year contract with the Dodgers.
