Although the Los Angeles Dodgers lost a heartbreaker in Game 1 of the National League Championship Series, the team had confidence moving forward. Heading into Game 2, Clayton Kershaw took the mound with a sense of determination to prevail.

His save to cap off Game 5 of the NL Division Series put a significant dent in the postseason narrative that’s haunted his career. On Sunday, Kershaw took another step in the right direction.

He was heckled by fans prior to the start, and of course that did nothing to disrupt Kershaw’s focus.

The three-time Cy Young Award winner allowed just two hits over seven scoreless innings. Despite pitching in his third game in the past six days, Kershaw didn’t show any signs of fatigue or poor command.

He worked out of some trouble in the fifth and seventh innings to keep the Cubs off the board:

The Dodgers have now won all four postseason games Kershaw has pitched in. In those four outings, Kershaw is 2-0 with a 3.72 ERA and 1.09 ERA. He’s slated to next start in a potential Game 6 of the NLCS.

Los Angeles could, however, call on Kershaw on short rest to start Game 5 at Dodger Stadium on Thursday.
