On Saturday the Los Angeles Dodgers faced Arizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher Shelby Miller for the second time in the past 11 days. It came one night after the Dodgers saw Zack Greinke a second time over that same amount of time.
Greinke improved on his disastrous outing at Dodger Stadium when he allowed a career-worst five home runs, but he still suffered a second straight loss to his former teammates. Meanwhile, Miller largely pitched to the same results as he did Sept. 6.
Although the right-hander managed to reach the sixth, whereas the Dodgers chased him in the fifth, Miller allowed the same amount of earned runs (four).
The first came on Justin Turner’s sacrifice fly in the opening frame. Los Angeles then broke a 1-1 tie by scoring three runs in the fourth inning.
After one came across on a passed ball and errant throw, Joc Pederson connected for a rocket of a two-run home run:

Pederson’s home run traveled 463 feet, which is good for the longest home run hit by a Dodgers player this season. It was Pederson’s 23rd home run this year, seven of which have come against the Diamondbacks.
