After concluding their road trip on Monday, the Los Angeles Dodgers open a key six-game homestand the following day. It begins with a three-game set against the San Francisco Giants, and includes a series with the Chicago Cubs.
Saturday’s matchup with the Cubs will be aired nationally on Fox Sports 1. The series finale will also be a national broadcast, with TBS announcing they’ve picked up the 1:10 p.m. PT start.
Both games will be available in the Los Angeles market. Sunday’s game on TBS will be called by Brian Anderson, with Cal Ripken Jr. serving as the analyst. It will be the Dodgers first appearance on TBS this season.
In the previous meeting between the Dodgers and Cubs, Chicago took three of the four games that were played at Wrigley Field. The weekend series is the last of a nine-game road trip for the Cubs.
Assuming the Dodgers are able, or elect to keep their rotation in its current order, Julio Urias, Scott Kazmir and Kenta Maeda will start against the Cubs. One likely change may be Urias, who makes a spot start Sunday.
The Dodgers intended to use their young left-hander as a reliever, but injuries have forced Urias back into the rotation. He faced the Cubs on June 2, allowing six runs (five earned) on eight hits over five innings.
Urias generally pitched well but was hurt by a few mistake pitches that the Cubs were sure to punish.
