If the Los Angeles Dodgers are to acquire an outfielder prior to Monday’s non-waiver trade deadline, odds suggest that’s likely to be Jay Bruce of the Cincinnati Reds. However, while the Dodgers appear to have significant interest in Bruce, the club has been linked to other outfielders as well.
Chef among them are Carlos Gonzalez of the Colorado Rockies and Josh Reddick of the Oakland Athletics. In Gonzalez’s case, the Rockies were recently reported as having reservations trading the slugger within the National League West division.
As for Reddick, the Dodgers reportedly held trade talks with the Athletics on a package of Reddick and starting pitcher Rich Hill, and are believed to have discussed separate trades for the two players.
In neither instance did those talks appear to advance. Now according to Jon Heyman of Today’s Knuckleball, it appears unlikely the Dodgers will complete a trade for the Gold Glove right fielder:
something heard: reddick is not too likely to go to dodgers, wont be going to cubs

Reddick this season is batting .298/.371/.451 with 10 doubles, eight home runs and 28 RBIs in 66 games. The majority of his success has come against right-handers, as Reddick is hitting .345/.415/.556 with his season’s worth of doubles and home runs, and 23 RBIs in 193 plate appearances.
The 29-year-old Reddick missed six weeks during May and June because of a fractured left thumb. He’s eligible for free agency after the 2016 season.
