One night after driving in all three runs in the Los Angeles Dodgers’ walk-off victory against the Milwaukee Brewers, Justin Turner once again picked the club up off the mat.
The Dodgers once more found themselves in an early deficit with a starting pitcher struggling to get through each inning. Mike Bolsinger labored through the first, though did manage to limit the Brewers to just one run.
A Trayce Thompson RBI single in the bottom half of the inning pulled the Dodgers even. However, Bolsinger gave up two more runs in the second and at one point was checked on by Dodgers manager Dave Roberts and trainer Nate Lucero.
Los Angeles again answered back in the bottom half of the inning, with Howie Kendrick’s solo home run cutting their deficit in half.
Fighting what was later said to be cramping, Bolsinger struggled again in the third inning. He gave up a two-run single to Ramon Flores and was lifted after just 2.2 innings, exiting with runners on second and third.
Chris Hatcher struck out Jonathan Villar to keep the Brewers lead at 5-2. After a Joc Pederson leadoff single and Corey Seager walk, Turner connected for a game-tying three-run home run:
The Dodgers went on to set a season high with six runs scored in the inning. They took an 8-5 lead to the fourth and never looked back in a 10-6 win. Pederson also homered on the night.
For Turner, it was his third home run in the past two games, and ninth on the season. He set a career high with 16 home runs in 2015. After hitting just one home run through his first 39 games this season, Turner has eight home runs in his last 27 games played.
