Dodgers Video: Justin Turner Hits 458-Foot Home Run Against Diamondbacks

While the Los Angeles Dodgers’ offensive woes have continued to plague them throughout the road trip, one encouraging sign has been the regularity with which Justin Turner is making solid contact.

Since making the Opening Day roster out of Spring Training in 2014, Turner established himself as one of the club’s most consistent hitters over the past two seasons. There have been flashes of that same production in 2016, but with peaks and valleys.

Coming off a series against the San Francisco Giants where he hit a go-ahead home run in the ninth inning, Turner has punished Arizona Diamondbacks pitching through the first two games.

On Monday, he hit an RBI double off Zack Greinke in the first inning, then singled in his next at-bat. Facing Archie Bradley on Tuesday, Turner hit a towering first-pitch home run to lead off the sixth inning:

The home run was Turner’s sixth of the season and third this month. He’s batting .230/.320/.371 with 10 doubles and 23 RBIs over 61 games. What’s more, Turner has three multi-hit games in all but one of the last four games entering play on Wednesday.

Turner’s success should continue as he’s a career 5-for-13 with three RBIs against Diamondbacks probable Patrick Corbin.
