Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop Corey Seager became the sixth-youngest player in Major League Baseball history to hit three home runs in a game, with the 22-year-old shortstop accomplishing the feat in Friday night’s victory over the Atlanta Braves.

He is the first Dodgers rookie with a three-homer game since Don Demeter did it April 21, 1959, when the club was still playing at the Coliseum. After the game, Seager said he was ‘locked in’ and felt as though the ball was sitting on a tee, and hoped the feeling would carry over into the following game(s).

He was held hitless Saturday night, but bounced back in resounding fashion to help the Dodgers complete a three-game sweep of the Braves.

With Los Angeles holding a comfortable 7-2 lead in the fourth inning, Seager hit the first pitch he saw from Matt Wisler over the center field fence. Then in the seventh, Seager crushed a two-run shot halfway up the pavilion in right field:

The multi-home run game was the third of Seager’s career, and second of the series with the Braves; he finished with five home runs over the three-game set. Seager leads the Dodgers with 65 hits, 14 home runs and 35 RBIs.

He’s with Joc Pederson for the team lead with 12 doubles, and is second to Trayce Thompson (.566) with a .533 slugging percentage.
