Complete List Of 2021 LA Dodgers Spring Training Non-Roster Invitees

The Los Angeles Dodgers announced their official list of 2021 Spring Training non-roster invitees, and there were a handful of familiar names on the list.

As is normally the case, the Dodgers’ 31 non-roster invitees is a combination of prospects and veterans that were brought in on Minor League deals to add depth.

Among the notable top prospects part of big league camp this year are Jacob Amaya, Michael Busch, Josiah Gray, Kody Hoese and Bobby Miller. The most recent draft pick of that bunch is Miller, who is heading into his first spring with L.A. after being selected in the first round in 2020.

As far as the veterans go, the Dodgers are welcoming back a familiar face in Brandon Morrow, who was arguably their best reliever during their 2017 World Series run. Morrow has dealt with a handful of injuries in recent years but will get a chance to prove that he is healthy and return to his previous form with the Dodgers this spring.

The same can be said for Jimmy Nelson, who the Dodgers signed a year ago. He unfortunately missed all of the 2020 season due to injury but was brought back on a Minor League contract. Nelson could be an option to start and pitch out of the bullpen.

A late addition to the Dodgers’ list of non-roster invitees was Matt Davidson. The infielder previously tested out being a two-way player, but the Dodgers didn’t list him as a pitcher so it appears that is no longer the case.

The Dodgers’ revised Cactus League schedule begins Sunday, Feb. 28, and L.A. will play 29 games this spring, including the annual exhibition Freeway Series at the end of March.

That should give the non-roster invitees plenty of opportunities to impress the coaching staff and front office in hopes of finding their way onto the Opening Day roster.
