The Los Angeles Dodgers collected 20 hits and scored 13 runs against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim on Wednesday afternoon at Tempe Diablo Stadium, but it wasn’t enough for a win. Los Angeles did not lose the game, however.

The Dodgers led, 13-10, when the ninth inning begin. Jharel Cotton entered for his second appearance of Spring Training and immediately found himself in hot water. The Angels hit back-to-back singles to bring the tying run to the plate with no outs.

Cotton didn’t do himself any favors as he hit Jeff Banty with a pitch to load the bases. Roberto Baldoquin followed with a bases-clearing double that tied the score before Cotton managed to end the game.

Joc Pederson opened the game and scoring by turning on a Jeff Weaver pitch for a towering leadoff home run:

Austin Barnes cut into the Dodgers’ 3-1 deficit with a solo home run in the second inning:

After Anaheim extended their lead, Adrian Gonzalez’s RBI single in the third inning pulled the Dodgers within two runs:

Scott Van Slyke followed the Gonzalez base hit with a two-run homer that tied the game:

With the Angels again holding a lead, Andre Ethier hit an RBI single in the sixth inning:

The Dodgers tied the game one batter later on Jack Murphy’s two-run double:

Barnes added to his day with an RBI single in the seventh inning, giving Los Angeles a 9-8 lead:

Micah Johnson’s two-run base hit extended the Dodgers’ lead in the seventh:

Charlie Culberson pinch-hit for Pederson and tacked on another run in the seventh with an RBI base hit:

The Dodgers’ final run came in the eighth inning on a Corey Brown RBI ground-rule double, in which only one scoring on the play loomed large:

The tie was the Dodgers second of the spring — they set a franchise record with eight ties last year — while it was the first for the Angels. At least one team scored one run in each inning on Wednesday, except for the fifth.
