The Los Angeles Dodgers swept the Cincinnati Reds in the Wild Card Series to punch their ticket for a National League Division Series showdown with the Philadelphia Phillies.
The Dodgers and Phillies are facing each other for the sixth time in MLB postseason history, with their most recent meeting coming in the 2009 NL Championship Series.
The Phillies eliminated the Dodgers in five games that year before they were defeated by the New York Yankees in the World Series.
Unlike their last postseason meeting, the Phillies have the higher seed and home-field advantage over the Dodgers in the NLDS. They finished with the second-best record in the NL at 96-66 and clinched a first-round bye into NLDS.
Game 1 of the 2025 NLDS takes place at Citizens Bank Park on Saturday, with first pitch dependent on the Wild Card matchup between the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees.
If the Yankees advance, Game 1 between the Dodgers and Phillies will begin at 3:38 p.m. PT. If the Red Sox win the series, first pitch at Citizens Bank Park on Saturday is 3:08 p.m.
Regardless of how that ultimately unfolds, it will be followed by a rare off day before the Phillies host Game 2 on Monday.
The break in the NLDS schedule could be beneficial for the Dodgers as they figure to lean on their starting rotation to compensate for an inconsistent bullpen.
The NLDS shifts to Dodger Stadium for Game 3 on Wednesday and a potential Game 4 on Thursday.
All NLDS games will air on either TBS or truTV, with streaming available through HBO Max.
During the regular season, the Phillies won four of six head-to-head meetings with the Dodgers. Included in that was taking two of three at Dodger Stadium in the middle of September to maintain a strong hold of the No. 2 seed in the NL postseason bracket.
