The 2025 MLB Draft begins Sunday, July 13, at 3 p.m. PT as part of All-Star Week festivities in Atlanta. The first day of the Draft will air live on MLB Network and ESPN, with additional coverage being provided by ESPN+ and MLB.com.

Day 1 of this year’s MLB Draft will consist of the first three rounds and two competitive balance rounds, totaling 105 selections.

The Washington Nationals have the No. 1 overall pick for only the third time in franchise history after winning the Draft Lottery this past December. The Seattle Mariners, picking third, also jumped up in the order as part of the lottery system that was introduced with the 2022-2026 collective bargaining agreement (CBA).

Day 2 of the 2025 MLB Draft gets underway Monday, July 14, at 11:30 a.m. PT. The final 17 rounds will be covered on ESPN+, MLB.com and the MLB app.

The Los Angeles Dodgers hold 21 total picks in this year’s Draft and are making their first selection at No. 40. The pick dropped 10 spots as a result of the team exceeding the second luxury tax threshold during the 2024 season.

The Dodgers’ bonus pool for the 2025 MLB Draft is $9,031,300, which ranks 24th in the league. Bonus pools are calculated by adding the slot values of every pick through the first 10 rounds.

There are consequences for exceeding the allotment, including a 75% tax on any overage amount up to 5% over the pool. If a team goes over the 5%, they will lose their first-round pick in the next draft.
