2025 Dodgers MLB Draft: Aidan West Picked No. 135 Overall In 4th Round

The Los Angeles Dodgers began their Day 2 of the 2025 MLB Draft by selecting shortstop Aidan West out of Long Reach High School in Maryland. West was drafted by the Dodgers with the 135th overall pick, which was made in the fourth round.

He’s their first prep selection after the Dodgers drafted from the collegiate ranks with all four of their picks on Sunday. West is currently committed to NC State.

There’s some belief West will eventually transition over to third base and could develop enough of a power swing to stick at the corner.

The No. 135 pick comes with a $544,900 slot value. The Dodgers have a total bonus pool of $9,031,300 for the 2025 MLB Draft, which is 24th among all teams.

Bonus pools are calculated by adding the slot values of every pick through the first 10 rounds. Any signing bonus amount more than $125,000 for draft picks after the 10th round also count against the pool money.

Dodgers picks on first day of 2025 Draft

The Dodgers’ first pick at No. 40 overall was moved back 10 spots as a result of the team exceeding the second luxury tax threshold during the 2024 season.

They chose left-handed pitcher Zach Root and drafted his University of Arkansas teammate, Charles Davalan, with the 41st pick.

With their second round pick at No. 65 overall, the Dodgers selected Cam Leiter, a right-handed pitcher from Florida State University.

That was followed by taking outfielder Landyn Vidourek from University of Cincinnati in the third round.
