Because the Dodgers finished with the best record in baseball (98-64), they secured home-field advantage throughout the World Series. Thus, Games 1 and 2 of the World Series are being played at Dodger Stadium on Oct. 25 and 26, respectively.

If necessary, Dodger Stadium also will play host to potential Games 6 and/or 7 to begin November.

The Yankees, back in the World Series for the first time since 2009, had the best record in the American League at 94-68, which trailed only the Dodgers and Philadelphia Phillies (95-67).

The Dodgers won two of three games during their visit to Yankee Stadium from June 7-9. Overall, this is the 12th time the Yankees and Dodgers have played each other in the World Series.

Yankees and Dodgers World Series rosters will be announced Friday morning.
