2024 NLDS: Padres Limiting Petco Park Ticket Sales For Posteason

The Los Angeles Dodgers and San Diego Padres are resuming the 2024 National League Division Series at Petco Park on Tuesday after playing the first two games at Dodger Stadium.

With the Padres back in the postseason after missing October baseball last year, they again are attempting to ensure they have as much of a home-field advantage as possible.

Any person who has attempted to purchase playoff tickets for Petco Park games through the official team website has been met with a disclaimer that states, “Padres Postseason ticket sales to Padres Insiders and the public are limited to the following counties and areas:

“San Diego County, Baja California , Imperial County, Southern Orange County (San Clemente, Dana Point, Laguna Niguel, San Juan Capistrano, Laguna Beach), Southern Riverside County (Temecula, Murrieta, Lake Elsinore, Menifee, Hemet, Perris), La Paz County, Mohave County, Yuma County, and Clark County. Orders by residents outside (geo-limited areas) will be canceled without notice and refunds given.”

Game 3 of the NLDS is scheduled to be played at Petco Park on Tuesday, with Game 4 set for Wednesday.

Dodgers fans have always maintained a strong presence in San Diego during the regular season, but that hasn’t been the case for their NLDS matchups at Petco Park thus far.

The Padres implemented the same ticketing restrictions for the 2022 NLDS, which effectively shut out droves of Dodgers fans.

It worked out well for the Padres that year, with the team winning Games 3 and 4 at home to reach the NL Championship Series.

Dodgers and Padres set attendance records

It was an in-demand series the last time these two teams met at Petco Park in July.

Dodgers and Padres fans combined set a new record for the largest crowd in the stadium’s history and an attendance high for a two-game series with a 94,556 combined total over the two games.
