The 2024 Los Angeles Dodgers World Series parade is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 1, which coincides with what would have been Fernando Valenzuela’s 64th birthday.
Valenzuela passed away last week, days before the Dodgers began their World Series showdown against the New York Yankees. That came weeks after Valenzuela stepped away from the team to focus on his health and reportedly was hospitalized soon after.
The Dodgers honored Valenzuela’s memory by beginning to wear a jersey patch for the World Series. The team is going to continue doing so throughout the entire 2025 season as well.
After conquering the San Diego Padres and New York Mets to capture their 22nd National League pennant in franchise history, the Dodgers stormed out to a 3-0 lead over the New York Yankees in the World Series.
They failed to complete a sweep but bounced back with a valiant effort on Wednesday night despite falling into a 5-0 deficit. The Dodgers’ comeback win represented the biggest deficit erased in a clinching game in World Series history.
Freddie Freeman was named 2024 World Series MVP.
Dodgers World Series parade details
The Dodgers’ parade is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. PT at Gloria Molina Grand Park on Spring Street, in front of City Hall. Los Angeles mayor Karen Bass will officially kick off the celebration, which will then continue on a 45-minute route from 1st Street to Grand Avenue to 5th Street, culminating at the intersection of 5th and Flower Street, with members of the Dodgers traveling atop double-decker buses.
Dodgers fans wishing to attend and line the parade route are emphatically encouraged to take public transportation due to significant street closures and limited public parking.
Following the parade, a special ticketed event at Dodger Stadium will begin at approximately 12:15 p.m. For fans attending, parking gates will open at 8:30 a.m. and stadium entry gates will open at 9 a.m.
Food and merchandise will be available for purchase at Dodger Stadium stores. All Dodger Stadium guidelines and rules will apply to this event, including the reminder not to bring in signs, bags or any other items that aren’t permitted under our policies.
Television coverage of all of Friday’s events will begin at 9:30 a.m. on SportsNet LA and local channels CBS 2, NBC 4, KTLA 5, ABC 7, KCAL 9 and Fox 11. Radio coverage will air on AM 570.
A portion of the proceeds from the stadium event will be donated to the Los Angeles Dodger Foundation, which is tackling the most pressing problems facing Los Angeles with a mission to improve education, health care, homelessness and social justice for all Angelenos.
