The Los Angeles Dodgers are hosting an adult softball camp at Dodger Stadium on Sunday, Sept. 29, giving fans an opportunity at a unique experience.

Attendees will get to live out their dreams of stepping foot on a big league field, learning and playing alongside current Dodger broadcaster and Olympic gold medalist Jessica Mendoza and fellow gold medalist Natasha Watley. Fans can reserve their spot at the camp by visiting Dodgers.com/softball.

“We’re thrilled to launch the first Dodger Stadium Adult Softball Camp,” executive director of Dodgers 365 Chris Koenig said in a statement. “We are even more excited to partner with softball legends Jessica Mendoza and Natasha Watley, who will bring a unique insight into the game for campers to learn and play alongside.”

Participants will be provided with a personalized experience, equipped with their own customized jersey and a locker in the Dodgers clubhouse. Use of Dodgers facilities, including the training room, batting cages and the field, will be available.

Warmups and stretching will be followed by a fastpitch softball game on the Dodger Stadium field near the conclusion of the camp. Teams coached by Mendoza and Watley will face off with one another.

Participants also will be treated to a Q&A session with Mendoza and Watley while lunch is served.

Mendoza, a former local standout from Camarillo, was an outfielder at Stanford University and played with Team USA from 2003-2008, claiming the gold medal at the Olympic Games in Athens (2004) and silver medal in Beijing (2008).

She has since turned her love of the game into a broadcasting career, calling games on ESPN for “Sunday Night Baseball,” the Women’s College World Series and Little League World Series. In 2015, Mendoza became the first woman to serve as an analyst for a nationally televised MLB game on ESPN.

Watley, who played on both Olympic teams with Mendoza, will also serve as a coach. As a shortstop at UCLA, she led her team to victory in the 2003 NCAA National championship.

Watley played professionally for eight years in the National Pro Fastpitch league and also overseas for Team Toyota in Japan. In 2009, she founded the Natasha Watley Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing softball to inner cities.

The former teammates have both been inducted to their university’s respective Hall of Fames and were each four-time All-Americans in college.
