The Los Angeles Dodgers are back in the World Series for the first time since 2020, when they navigate a pandemic-impacted season to capture the seventh championship in franchise history.
They finished with the best record in baseball this year and after twice staving off elimination against the San Diego Padres in the National League Division Series, the Dodgers steamrolled the New York Mets for the 25th NL pennant in franchise history.

This year marked the Dodgers’ first trip to the NLCS since 2021. The NL pennant is their 22nd in franchise history.
L.A. secured home-field advantage throughout the postseason, which means they will host Games 1 and 2 of the World Series against the New York Yankees. They also would be the home team for potential Games 6 and 7.
The Yankees are back in the World Series for the first time since 2009, when they capped off a stretch of three titles in a row.
The Dodgers and Yankees are playing in the World Series for the 12th time in MLB postseason history. New York won the first five head-to-head meetings before Brooklyn broke through in 1955.
The Yankees are 8-3 all-time against the Dodgers in the World Series. However, the Dodgers were victorious when the teams last met in 1981.
All World Series games are going to be televised exclusively by Fox, with Joe Davis and John Smoltz on the call. Davis and Smoltz will have covered the Dodgers’ 2024 postseason run as they already were the booth for their NLDS and NLCS games.
