The Los Angeles Dodgers organization lost a beloved member of their community in Fernando Valenzuela prior to their matchup against the New York Yankees in the 2024 World Series.
In the end, the Dodgers were able to defeat the Yankees in five games, while honoring the memory of Valenzuela every step of the way. That included wearing a jersey patch during the World Series, and a ceremony prior to Game 1 at Dodger Stadium.

Being able to win a championship in honor of Valenzuela was a personal matter for Dodgers manager Dave Roberts and Freddie Freeman, who each have their own unique connection to the former baseball icon.

While the team continues to wear the “Fernando 34” jersey patch this season, the beloved pitcher was also recognized inside the 2024 Dodgers World Series ring.
The design by Jostens again is one that allows for the top of the ring to open. Inside it is a display of Dodger Stadium, World Series trophy and diamonds to recognize the eight championships in Dodgers franchise history.
The presentation of the Dodgers’ second World Series ring in five years was a highly anticipated event for many players, with only a select few having the opportunity to see some details of the ring beforehand.
The Dodgers punctuated World Series ring night with a thrilling walk-off victory thanks to Mookie Betts’ three-run home run in the bottom of the 10th inning.

On the inside of the Dodgers’ 2024 ring is their City Connect logo placed atop a piece of a base from the World Series. That then is surrounded by 34 sapphires in honor of Valenzuela’s jersey number with the Dodgers.
