The start of 2024 Los Angeles Dodgers Spring Training arrived on Thursday morning with pitchers and catchers reporting to Camelback Ranch. The group is scheduled to hold their first official workout on Thursday.
They’ll be joined by position players by February 13, and the Dodgers’ first full-squad workout is scheduled for Valentine’s Day.
Shohei Ohtani and Yoshinobu Yamamoto were among the players who reported to Dodgers camp early. For Ohtani, it paved the way to beginning to take swings against a pitching machine — a noted step forward in his rehab process since undergoing right elbow surgery in September.
Additional Dodgers position players are expected to arrive at Camelback Ranch for informal workouts ahead of their mandatory date next week.
Because the Dodgers start the 2024 season early with the Seoul Series against the San Diego Padres, they are also in Spring Training ahead of other teams and play a condensed Cactus League schedule.
