The Los Angeles Dodgers announced their group of non-roster invitees to 2023 Spring Training, which is comprised of 27 players and includes a blend of top prospects, veterans and organizational depth.
Notable Dodgers prospects invited to big league camp are Landon Knack, Bobby Miller and Gavin Stone. Miller and Stone were recently ranked among the top-10 right-handed pitching prospects by MLB Pipeline.
Offseason signings and those with MLB experience, Jason Heyward, Robbie Erlin, Adam Kolarek, Jordan Yamamoto and Wander Suero, also are going to be in camp with the Dodgers.
Spring Training figures to be key for the likes of Miller, Stone and Heyward. Miller and Stone are likely to make their respective MLB debuts this season, and Heyward is vying for a spot on the Dodgers’ Opening Day roster.
Additionally of note, Yusniel Diaz is back with the Dodgers organization. He originally was signed as an international prospect out of Cuba in 2015 for $15.5 million and later included in the Manny Machado trade with the Baltimore Orioles in 2018.
The Dodgers signed Diaz to a Minor League contract after he elected to become a free agent following the 2022 season.
Also back is Luke Williams, who was non-tendered 10 days after being claimed off waivers.
Pitchers and catchers have their first workout at Camelback Ranch on Thursday, February 16. The Dodgers then will hold their full-squad workout Monday, Feb. 20.
However, pitchers and catchers participating in the 2023 World Baseball Classic must report to camp by Monday, Feb. 13; and position players who are playing in the WBC are due by Feb. 16.
The Dodgers play the Milwaukee Brewers for their Cactus League opener on Saturday, Feb. 25.
