Los Angeles Dodgers Opening Day tickets and for their matchup with the New York Yankees went on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. PT Thursday morning. Those who have a Mastercard were granted presale access on Wednesday.

Previously, fans could only buy Dodgers tickets for the 2023 season to all other games.

Opening Day for the Dodgers is a matchup with the Arizona Diamondbacks on March 30. It’s the first time since 2020 that L.A. is starting a season at home.

They were scheduled to do so in 2022, but a delay caused by the MLB lockout resulted in the Dodgers beginning the season on the road against the Colorado Rockies for a second consecutive year.

The 2023 Dodgers schedule is the first that is part of MLB’s return to being balanced. MLB hasn’t had a balanced schedule since Interleague play was introduced in 1997.

Changes with that amount to the Dodgers only making two visits to opposing National League West cities and playing a total of 52 divisional games (down from 76). Each team will play 46 Interleague games, which represents an increase from 20.

The Dodgers’ first Interleague game this season is May 15, for the start of a three-game series against the Minnesota Twins.

The Yankees make their visit to Dodger Stadium from June 2-4. They last faced the Dodgers at Chavez Ravine in 2019 during Players Weekend, when the Yankees took two of three in what many believed was a World Series preview.

Dodgers Opening Day a night game

Although Opening Day for the Dodgers is back at Dodger Stadium, it’s in the form of a night game. First pitch for the 2023 season opener is set for 7:10 p.m. PT.

The Dodger Stadium opener is traditionally an afternoon start, and this season is only the fifth time in the past 47 years it will be a night game.

The Dodgers previously played home openers at night in 1995, 2011, 2020 and 2022.
