2023 Baseball Hall Of Fame Ballot: Andre Ethier, Manny Ramírez Among 9 Former Dodgers To Appear

The 2023 Baseball Hall of Fame ballot features nine players with ties to the Los Angeles Dodgers, most notably Andre Ethier in his first time up for enshrinement. Overall, there are 28 candidates for voting members of the Baseball Writers’ Association of America to choose from.

In addition to Ethier, Bronson Arroyo and Jayson Werth are former Dodgers to appear for the first time. The 2023 Hall of Fame ballot features a total of 14 newcomers.

Among returnees who played for the Dodgers, Jeff Kent is up for BBWAA vote for the 10th and final time in his career. He was included on just 32.7% of ballots in 2022 Hall of Fame voting.

Any candidate who receives votes on 75% of all ballots will earn election into the Hall of Fame. Players remain on the BBWAA ballot for 10 years as long as they are not elected and they are named on at least 5% of ballots cast each year.

All former Dodgers who appear on the Hall of Fame ballot for 2023 are Bobby Abreu, Arroyo, Ethier, Andruw Jones, Kent, Manny Ramírez, Jimmy Rollins, Gary Sheffield and Werth.

Abreu, Jones, Kent, Ramírez, Rollins and Sheffield were at least up for Cooperstown consideration in 2022 as well.

While they spent time with the Dodgers during their respective careers, Abreu, Arroyo, Jones, Kent, Ramírez, Rollins and Werth each would be immortalized while donning the cap of another club; Sheffield may fall into that category as well.

BBWAA writers must submit their ballots by December 31, with Hall of Fame results to be announced on MLB Network on January 24.

The 2023 induction will then be held July 21-24, 2023.
