The Los Angeles Dodgers snapped a three-game losing streak to finish the 2022 season on a high note and with a new franchise-best .685 winning percentage for a complete schedule.

Technically, the Dodgers’ best winning percentage in franchise history remained .717, achieved during the shortened 2020 campaign. Prior to this year, the Dodgers franchise record for winning percentage in a full season was .682, shared by the 1899 and 1953 teams.

Also this season, the Dodgers had their best record against the National League West in the divisional era by going 54-22 (.711). That topped the 1974 club that finished 63-27 (.700) against the NL West. This year’s team also clinched the division in the fewest number of games than any other in franchise history.

The 2022 Dodgers additionally lay claim to the best record in franchise history at 111-51. The mark was previously shared by the 2019 and 2021 teams that both won 106 games.

“I think the magnitude as far as history, that’s context,” manager Dave Roberts said of finishing 60 games over .500. “This team is in elite company for the regular season.

“To go through and do what we’ve done, speaks to a lot of people. We appreciate it. I think having a day off to kind of relish the regular season is a good thing and healthy thing. But we still know that the most important part of the season is yet to come.”

The Dodgers’ 111 wins surpassed the 1909 Pittsburgh Pirates for second-most by an NL team in MLB history. They finished behind the 1906 Chicago Cubs that won an MLB-tying-record 116 games. In addition to the Cubs, only the 1998 New York Yankees (114 games) and 2001 Seattle Mariners (116) have ever won more games than the 2022 Dodgers.

The 1954 Cleveland Indians also collected 111 victories.

Dodgers fall shy of Dodger Stadium record

Although the Dodgers put together a historically great regular season, they fell short for breaking the best record at Dodger Stadium by going 57-24.

That nonetheless was the best mark at home by any team this season, but the 2019 Dodgers hold the franchise record for most wins at Dodger Stadium with 59.
