The Los Angeles Dodgers announced their initial list of non-roster invites to 2021 Spring Training, which is comprised of 31 players and includes a blend of top prospects, veterans and organizational depth.

Among the notable prospects due to be in big league camp with the Dodgers are Josiah Gray, Kody Hoese, Michael Busch, Bobby Miller and Jacob Amaya. As previously reported, so too are Brandon Morrow and Jimmy Nelson, who each signed a Minor League contract during the offseason.

Nelson initially joined the Dodgers last season but never pitched due to requiring back surgery. Morrow returned to the organization after signing with the Chicago Cubs following the 2017 campaign.

Newcomer Gus Varland, acquired in the trade with the Oakland Athletics, also received a non-roster invite to Spring Training.

Josh Sborz was mistakingly included as part of the announced group, but that was corrected. Sborz was designated for assignment last week as the corresponding 40-man roster move to signing Trevor Bauer. Sborz then was traded to the Texas Rangers for Minor League pitcher Jhan Zambrano.

Dodgers pitchers and catchers report to camp on Wednesday, with their first workout scheduled for the following day. Position players must arrive for Spring Training by Monday, and the first full-squad workout is set for Feb. 23.

The team’s revised Cactus League schedule begins Sunday, Feb. 28, with a matchup against the A’s. L.A. will play 29 games, which includes the exhibition Freeway Series at the end of March. MLB eliminated split-squad games for all teams.

The Dodgers play 14 of their 26 Cactus League games at Camelback Ranch, including 13 as the designated home team.
