UPDATE (Jan. 10, 10:00 a.m. PT): Tickets and other information for 2020 Los Angeles Dodgers FanFest is now available here.

The Los Angeles Dodgers are hosting their annual FanFest event at Dodger Stadium on Saturday, Jan. 25, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fans presumably will require a ticket to enter, though admission is free.

The Dodgers have not yet announced complete details, but the day figures to again feature an array of entertainment, games and autograph sessions. Logistics may be more challenging this time around as the Dodgers are in the process of completing a renovation of Dodger Stadium.

FanFest serves as the de facto beginning of a new season, as Dodgers president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman, manager Dave Roberts and players all make themselves available for interviews. In addition to speaking with media in the bullpen, they take the FanFest stage and join the SportsNet LA set.

Organist Dieter Ruehle and DJ Severe have been on hand in years past as well.

FanFest in 2019 saw the Dodgers officially announce the signing of and introduce A.J. Pollock as the newest member of the organization. After the team suffered a disappointing postseason exit, many anticipated the Dodgers to make an offseason splash.

They were linked to Anthony Rendon and Stephen Strasburg, and reportedly offered Gerrit Cole a contract of eight years and $300 million, but each of the marquee free agents signed elsewhere. In Rendon’s case, he lacked interest in joining the Dodgers and a ‘Hollywood lifestyle.’

With a goal of acquiring elite talent, L.A. now appears to be focused on the trade market. The bulk of their interest may lie on completing a trade with the Cleveland Indians for Mike Clevinger and Francisco Lindor.

However, there also is said to have been preliminary trade talks with the Boston Red Sox for All-Star Mookie Betts.

Nearly one month remains for the Dodgers to complete a blockbuster trade that would certainly provide a jolt of energy at FanFest. Of course, Friedman has regularly demonstrated the front office is not motivated or affected by external perception and pressure.
