A monster sixth inning in Game 3 of the 2019 National League Division Series on Sunday led to a 10-4 victory and has put the Los Angeles Dodgers one win away from advancing to their fourth straight NL Championship Series. The Dodgers will be looking to eliminate the Washington Nationals on their home field Monday as +125 road underdogs (bet $100 to win $125) on the MLB odds at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com with southpaw Rich Hill.

Los Angeles trailed Washington 2-1 in the top of the sixth inning when the team exploded for seven runs, with Washington’s Patrick Corbin surrendering six of them. The Nationals replaced starting pitcher Anibal Sanchez with Corbin after the former had allowed only one run and four hits in the first five innings with two walks and nine strikeouts. Now it will be up to ace Max Scherzer to try to help them avoid elimination.

Washington is a small -135 favorite (bet $135 to win $100) at online betting sites behind Scherzer (11-7. 2.92 ERA), who has not been himself over the past month. The three-time Cy Young Award winner went 2-2 with a 5.16 ERA during the month of September and then has given up three runs and four hits in six innings over two playoff appearances for an ERA of 4.50.

Meanwhile, Hill (4-1, 2.45 ERA) may be listed as the starter in this key spot, but bettors should not be surprised to see him pulled early with a chance to advance on the line. He has gone more than three innings just once in his last five outings, and that came way back on June 14. The good news for the Dodgers is that they have won seven straight times when he has pitched regardless of how long he has lasted in the game.

Los Angeles is also 11-4 in the past 15 meetings, according to the OddsShark MLB Database, and the OVER has cashed in the last three played at Nationals Park. The odds are obviously not on Washington’s side as the team tries to rally and win its first playoff series ever, especially with its opponent riding an eight-game road winning streak.
