After the National League tied the game in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Houston Astros continued to torment the Los Angeles Dodgers as Alex Bregman and George Springer hit back-to-back home runs off Ross Stripling in the 10th.

The American League extended their reign in the 2018 MLB All-Star Game with an 8-6 victory. It marked a sixth consecutive year in which the AL roster came away with a win in the Midsummer Classic.

Prior to surrendering the home runs, Stripling retired the only two batters faced in the top of the ninth.

The American League jumped out to a lead behind solo home runs from New York Yankees slugger Aaron Judge and Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim center fielder Mike Trout. Seattle Mariners infielder Jean Segura broke a tie with a three-run shot in the eighth inning.

Chicago Cubs catcher Willson Contreras’ solo home run off Tampa Bay Rays reliever Blake Snell in the third inning, and Trevor Story and Christian Yelich later added solo home runs of their own. Joey Votto clubbed a homer, the 10th of the game, in the bottom of the 10th inning.

Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Matt Kemp contributed to the quiet offensive night with a leadoff double in the second inning. He then posed for a selfie with Baltimore Orioles shortstop Manny Machado, who is expected to be traded to the Dodgers in the coming days.

Although he hoped to earn a save in what his third career All-Star Game, Kenley Jansen did not pitch. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts had previously indicated he likely would avoid using Jansen in the exhibition game.
