The Los Angeles Dodgers hope to extend their season on Tuesday with a with a win over the Houston Astros in Game 6 of the World Series.

Of the previous 11 teams to return home while trailing 3-2 in the World Series, nine have forced a Game 7. And out of those nine teams, eight have gone on to win the Fall Classic.

Making his second start of the series is Rich Hill, who looks to build off a solid outing against the Astros in Game 2. Hill allowed one run on three hits in four innings, striking out seven batters in the process.

The veteran struggled some with his command, issuing four walks (one intentional), but managed to prevent additional runs from scoring. All-in-all, Hill owns a 2.77 ERA and 1.23 WHIP in 13 innings this postseason, with 19 strikeouts to seven walks.

On the mound for the Astros is Justin Verlander, who looks to propel Houston to their first World Series championship in franchise history.

In Game 2 against the Dodgers, Verlander yielded three runs and two hits (two home runs) in six innings, with five strikeouts and two walks.

It was the first non-decision for Verlander since joining the Astros at the August waiver trade deadline. The veteran has yet to be tabbed with a loss in 10 opportunities for his new club.

Overall this postseason, Verlander has posted a 2.05 ERA and 0.88 WHIP in 30.2 innings with 29 punch outs to eight free passes.

Logan Forsythe, hitting seventh, leads the Dodgers with a .313 (10-for-32) postseason batting average. Forsythe did not start in Game 2 against Verlander. Joc Pederson, sixth in the lineup, tops the club with a .364 (4-for-11) average in the World Series.

After going hitless in his first 11 World Series at-bats, Cody Bellinger is 4-for-his-last-9 with four extra-base hits over his last two games.
