Hours after the Los Angeles Dodgers formally introduced Mookie Betts and David Price during a press conference in center field at Dodger Stadium, the L.A. Kings honored their fellow Southern California sports team.

And for their annual Dodgers Night at Staples Center they welcomed Chase Utley, who dropped the ceremonial puck before the Kings faced off with the Calgary Flames. Fans in attendance received a co-branded Kings-Dodgers Anze Kopitar bobblehead.

Pantone 294, who regularly organizes road trips for Dodgers fans during the regular season, organized a group for the Kings game as well. Those who purchased a ticket pack through Pantone 294 received a Dodgers-Kings cap to go along with the bobblehead, were part of a group photo at center ice and played a game for one hour.

The Dodgers and Kings regularly open their doors to one another, with each team hosting a night for the other’s fans. During the summer months it’s not uncommon to find Jeff Carter, Alec Martinez, Tyler Toffoli and others taking part in batting practice at Dodger Stadium.

Last year, Steve Yeager and Bill Russell dropped the puck on Dodgers Night, and Kiké Hernandez held the honor in 2018. Although Utley retired after the 2018 season, he’s remained connected to the organization as a SportsNet LA analyst and an advisory role in the front office.

In January, Gavin Lux, Matt Beaty and Dodgers prospect Kody Hoese took in a Kings game at Staples Center with rapper YG, Rams All-Pro running back Todd Gurley and teammate John Johnson III.

Also last month, Dodgers Spanish-language broadcaster Jaime Jarrín attended his first ever Kings game and raved about the experience.

The 2020 Dodgers promotional and giveaway calendar does not yet have a designated date for Kings Night at Dodger Stadium.
