UNDEFEATED Collaborates With Converse For Dodgers Chuck 70

3 Min Read

MLB and the Los Angeles Dodgers just celebrated the 79th anniversary of Jackie Robinson breaking the color barrier, and now the organization is part of a collaboration with Converse and UNDEFEATED to further celebrate Brooklyn history.

UNDEFEATED and Major League Baseball partnered with Converse to take their iconic Chuck Taylor shoe and elevate it with Dodgers’ detailing.

Converse x UNDEFEATED x Dodgers collaboration is bringing a new level of storytelling to the Chuck 70 grounded in craft, living history, and home-team pride.

Dodgers Chuck 70 release details

The Converse x UNDEFEATED Brooklyn Dodgers Chuck 70 launches Monday, April 20, for $110 at UNDEFEATED La Brea and New York, Undefeated.com, MLB.com, the MLB Flagship Store in New York City, and Dodgers team store.

UNDEFEATED is holding a raffle through their website and the drawing is scheduled to end at 9 a.m. PT on Sunday. Those who weren’t selected as a raffle winner, will then have an opportunity to purchase the shoe at the aforementioned UNDEFEATED locations beginning at 8 a.m. on Monday.

This Chuck 70 honors the Dodgers’ Brooklyn roots with an embroidered B logo at the lateral side and team script on the tongue. The upper is black faux ostrich leather and additional design details include an embossed UNDEFEATED 5-strike logo and a co-branded heel plate. The UNDEFEATED logo and “B Dodgers” are on the inside of the tongue.

The shoe is limited to 1,947 individually numbered pairs in order to pay tribute to the year Robinson made his historic MLB debut and forever chaged the game.

The Dodgers franchise originated in Brooklyn in 1884 and underwent multiple name changes before becoming known as their current club. “Dodgers” was first used 1911 but initially only remained in place through the 1915 season. Brooklyn then introduced the Robins team name until Dodgers returned for good in 1932.

But after a 26-year stretch as the Brooklyn Dodgers, Walter O’Malley moved the franchise to Los Angeles, where they played at the Coliseum until Dodger Stadium opened on April 10, 1962.

The Dodgers Chuck 70 is the latest product to pay tribute to the organization’s roots. Nike annually releases a variety of t-shirts, sweatshirts, caps and more with the Brooklyn script or logo. For their Jackie Robinson Day game, the Dodgers have taken to wearing a jersey from their time in Brooklyn.
