Coming off a 5-1 loss to the Seattle Mariners at Peoria Sports Complex, Los Angeles Dodgers face the Arizona Diamondbacks in their final road game of Cactus League play.

The teams played to a 5-5 tie in their first meeting on March 2 at Camelback Ranch and will face each other again next week on Opening Day at Dodger Stadium.

Michael Grove gets the start as he continues to make his case for a spot on the Dodgers Opening Day roster. He allowed two runs on five hits and collected six strikeouts across 3.2 innings of work in his last outing against the Chicago White Sox.

Grove enters with a 4.38 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 10.2 strikeouts per nine in 12.1 innings pitched this spring (five starts). He appeared in seven games for the Dodgers last season, finishing with a 4.60 ERA that was somewhat inflated after giving up four runs to the Colorado Rockies in his final appearance.

In the Minors, Grove went a combined 1-5 with a 3.79 ERA and 1.22 WHIP across 19 games (17 starts) with Double-A Tulsa and Triple-A Oklahoma City.

The Diamondbacks counter with Drey Jameson, who has pitched to a 1-1 record, 7.45 ERA and 1.55 WHIP in 9.2 innings across four starts this spring.

The right-hander found plenty of success during his brief stint with Arizona last season, going 3-0 with a 1.48 ERA and 1.11 WHIP in 24.1 innings pitched (four starts).

Jameson faces a Dodgers lineup that includes regulars Freddie Freeman and Will Smith in the Nos. 2 and 3 spots. Smith is appearing in his first Cactus League game since leaving camp to play for Team USA in the 2023 World Baseball Classic.
