The Los Angeles Dodgers are back at Salt River Fields on Monday afternoon, but this time for a matchup against the Arizona Diamondbacks. L.A. previously settled for a tie in their road game against the Colorado Rockies.

Meanwhile, the Dodgers and Diamondbacks are meeting for the first and only time of the condensed 2022 Spring Training schedule. Clayton Kershaw takes the mound for his third Cactus League start.

He threw 1.1 innings in the Dodgers’ opener against the Milwaukee Brewers, and 2.1 frames his last time out. Kershaw has allowed a combined three runs, collected four strikeouts and held opponents to a .154 batting average.

Kershaw had been on a path that would’ve allowed him to start Opening Day for the Dodgers, but manager Dave Roberts announced Walker Buehler is taking the ball in the season opener. It’s undecided how the rotation will be aligned behind Buehler, but Kershaw figures to start in the Opening Series against the Rockies.

The Diamondbacks counter with Corbin Martin, who is making his second start of Spring Training. The right-hander allowed two runs (one earned) over 2.2 innings and picked up a win against the San Francisco Giants in his 2022 debut.

Martin went 0-3 with a 10.69 ERA across five games (three starts) for the Diamondbacks last season. Prior to that, Martin last had been up with the Majors during the 2019 season, when he made five starts for the Houston Astros.

Martin faces a Dodgers lineup that again has Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman and Trea Turner in the first three spots. Roberts has suggested that is likely the order they will remain come the start of the regular season.

Max Muncy is making another start at third base, which bumps Justin Turner to designated hitter.
