Rockies Vs. Dodgers Game Preview: Trevor Bauer’s Dodger Stadium Debut, Mookie Betts Returns

The Los Angeles Dodgers take a three-game winning streak and MLB-best 8-2 record into play Tuesday against the Colorado Rockies, marking a second series between the teams this season. L.A. suffered a loss to Colorado on Opening Day, then rebounded with three straight wins.

They are the only team in baseball to have won every series played so far this season, and they look to extend that streak against a Rockies team that was the lone opponent to take a series from the Dodgers last season.

Trevor Bauer looks to get L.A. off on the right foot in what’s his debut with the team at Dodger Stadium. The right-hander is 1-0 with a 4.15 ERA and 0.69 WHIP through two outings thus far. Bauer has recorded 10 strikeouts in both of his starts, though also given up at least one home run each time out.

Bauer had a no-hitter through six innings at Coors Field in his Dodgers debut, only to lose it on a leadoff single and then surrender back-to-back homers. The seventh inning has been a bit of a trouble spot for Bauer in both starts, as opponents are batting .625 in that frame.

Buaer’s only other start at Dodger Stadium came in 2014, when he allowed three runs on six hits over 5.2 innings as a member of the Cleveland Indians.

The Rockies counter with Antonio Senzatela, who is coming off eight shutout innings and a win against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Senzatela started the same night as Bauer’s outing at Coors Field.

He struggled mightily, logging just 3.1 innings and giving up seven runs on nine hits. Senzatela hasn’t fared well at Dodger Stadium in his career, pitching to a 7.13 ERA in five starts.

The Dodgers will have Mookie Betts in the lineup, after he missed the past four games due to lower back stiffness. Betts said he “feels great” and no longer is feeling discomfort when running.
