2027 MLB All-Star Game

Commissioner Rob Manfred awarded the 2027 MLB All-Star Game to the Chicago Cubs, who will host the annual event and accompanying festivities at Wrigley Field.

It’s going to mark a fourth time the Cubs have hosted an All-Star Game in franchise history, all of which have been at Wrigley Field, with the first being held in 1947. They additionally hosted in 1962 and 1990, with the 1962 exhibition being the second of two All-Star Games played that season.

Wrigley Field is becoming the third ballpark in MLB history to host an All-Star Game four times, joining Municipal Stadium and old Yankee Stadium.

Overall, 2027 is going to mark an eighth MLB All-Star Game hosted by the city of Chicago, which is one shy of tying New York for the most by one city.

The 2027 All-Star Game will be played on Tuesday, July 13. It will be MLB’s 97th Midsummer Classic.

2028 and 2029 MLB All-Star Games

Locations for MLB All-Star Games in 2028 and 2029 have not yet been set. However, comments by Manfred and reports suggest the Toronto Blue Jays and Baltimore Orioles are due to host in the near future.

It’s also been reported that the San Francisco Giants may be the favorite to host in 2028.

An initial sentiment that the Blue Jays would likely host the 2028 All-Star Game has given way to Oracle Park as the preferred location in the wake of MLB players potentially participating in the Los Angeles Olympics.

Manfred’s final two All-Star Games as MLB commissioner are expected to be 2027 and 2028.
