Another day, another similar story for the Los Angeles Dodgers: they received a strong outing from their pitching staff but struggled on offense, leading to a loss against the Detroit Tigers.
The Dodgers also played in their fifth consecutive one-run game, and they are now just 1-4 in those games.
The Dodgers and Tigers conclude the series on Sunday with a rubber match before they get a day off on Monday and return to Dodger Stadium.

Tigers walk-off Dodgers
With a tie game in the ninth inning, Javier Báez hit a leadoff double against Jack Dreyer. He was then bunted over to third base by Max Clark, and Gleyber Torres was intentionally walked to set up the double play.
Hao-Yu Lee walked to load the bases, still with just one out. Kevin McGonigle then hit a fly ball to the outfield to give the Tigers the win.
Dodgers offense remains nonexistent
Once again, the Dodgers struggled to score runs. They have scored just four total runs across their last three games and each run they do end up scoring feels like a miracle.
Their lone run on Saturday came after a leadoff double from Alek Thomas in the sixth inning, and then he scored on a single from Freddie Freeman. They had a great chance to add on as Mookie Betts followed with a single and Max Muncy walked to load the bases, but Tommy Edman grounded into a double play to end the threat.
The Dodgers went 1-for-6 with runners in scoring position and left five on base while recording just five hits and two walks in total.
Blake Snell shows elite stuff
Blake Snell was unable to pitch deep into the game, but he showed off his elite stuff. The left-hander struck out 10 hitters over five innings while allowing one run on three hits with three walks.
He has now allowed one run or fewer in all four of his starts since coming off the injured list.
The third inning provided the most trouble for Snell as he walked Baez, the leadoff hitter, and then Clark reached first on an error by Max Muncy.
The Tigers got on the board with a ground-rule double from Gleyber Torres, and then loaded the bases with one out on another walk. But Snell was able to limit the damage and stranded the bases full with a pair of strikeouts.
Snell also allowed a leadoff double in the fifth inning, and then issued a two-out walk, but he was once again able to work his way out of the inning without any runs scoring.
