Official Shohei Ohtani Logo Unveiled By New Balance

As the Los Angeles Dodgers were on the verge of beginning the 2024 season by playing in the Seoul Series, New Balance unveiled the official Shohei Ohtani logo with a marketing campaign that highlights his unique two-way ability.

The first-of-its kind logo focuses on Ohtani’s athleticism that’s allowed him to already have a historic MLB career as the only player twice win an MVP Award in unanimous fashion.

“To finally reveal this special logo that I’ve worked closely on is truly an exciting moment for me,” Ohtani said in a statement. “It is a visual representation of my journey in baseball and I am excited to share it with the world. I also look forward to using this logo with future projects that we will reveal throughout the 2024 season.”

“Since joining forces with New Balance, Shohei Ohtani has been nothing short of incredible to work with both on and off the diamond,” New Balance chief marketing officer and senior vice president of merchandising Chris Davis said.

“We have collaborated with Shohei on charitable endeavors in Japan, global brand storytelling, product, and a lot more still to come. Shohei is truly a reflection of our values, and this is just the beginning. We will continue to innovate, inspire, and give back in a way that can only be expressed through Shohei.”

New Balance also debuted a website available in English and Japanese to further celebrate Ohtani and his logo, with the promotional video and poem entitled “Redefining Greatness.”

“Shohei Ohtani is a great baseball player,” it begins. The unparalleled challenge of mastering both pitching and hitting, executed effortlessly, leaves spectators in awe, surpassing even their wildest imaginations.

“Yet, at the heart of his game lies the soul of a young baseball player ‒ a passion for the game itself. With unwavering respect for the sport, he pours his heart and soul into every play.

“He challenges norms and constantly strives for greatness.

“Above talent and beyond, it’s a mindset any young athlete can embrace. While others settle, he’s relentlessly pushing the limits.

“In that run, every soul delights.”

To further commemorate the unveiling of Ohtani’s logo and the start of the 2024 MLB season, New Balance plans to debut a new “We Got Now” campaign. The new ad will be featured on broadcasts and out-of-home advertising around the world.

New Balance’s commitment to further recognize the landmark moment of the first Ohtani logo is going to include an exclusive pop-up at their Brentwood location on Wednesday, March 27, from 3 to 7 p.m. PT.

Fans will have an opportunity to purchase a limited-edition t-shirt and a replica version of his baseball glove.

A “Made in Japan” t-shirt with Ohtani’s logo released in the country this week.
